The sound might not come across, but the rambunctiousness and irreverence of Swim Into Scarlet as this gig at The White Horse last week certainly do. Enjoy its fuzzy charm.
It’s not too late to sponsor Proud Proud People’s trumpet voluntary, who ran the 10k in Manchester today for Christie’s. Just click the link, and, as always, don’t forget to Pray for Clay.
I’ve been hearing good things about this new Manchester band (nudge nudge wink wink). Thanks kindly to Katie Dervin (https://www.facebook.com/katiedervinphotography) for the photo. Why don’t you click the pic and ‘like’ us? Er… I mean ‘them’… There’s even a neat lil’ rehearsal demo to listen to ahead of our gig at The Roadhouse on June 2nd.
If you didn’t already know, and if you didn’t, you soon will, just keep on reading, Swim Into Scarlet will be supporting Pulled Apart By Horses this year at Volume Festival (aka ‘Crewe Live’) this early June Bank Holiday weekend (1st-4th) - more details a-coming, but for now, nice work lads! (Proud Proud People will also be making a special appearance - hang tight…)
In the meantime, they’ll be supporting Crushed Beaks, along with Shinies, for an Ark Stoke/Sleep In show at Fat Cats Bar in Hanley on May 18th. Basically, they’re inescapable.
Swim Into Scarlet played Stoke festival Hippy Haze over Easter weekend, and you can read kind words about them (and another artist we’re fans of here - Aaron Mobberley) in this enthusiastic review at Radicals Rising blog - scroll down to the Sunday listings.

therunningchelsea supports Dennis and Athletes in Paris, in a gig in association with The Bunker Sunderland. Quoting from the Washington Arts Centre page:
“Dennis have built upon their pit village heritage, utilising their connections with Hetton and Houghton Brass Band to create an indie/folk sound which has been compared with Belle and Sebastian and Arcade Fire
Athletes In Paris play incredibly catchy and equally idiosyncratic pop songs that are punctuated with chanted gang-vocals and frantic muted guitar picking. It’s one big multicultural northern melting pot and it may give you that long awaited EUREKA! moment that makes you realise the missing link between Earth, Wind and Fire, Friendly Fires, Jack Penate and Prefab Sprout.”

My good friend Bradley Porter’s Oscar predictions. Anyone wanna watch it with me tomorrow?
Seeing as EatSleepLiveFilm.com is down temporarily, I’ll post my predictions here. Believe it or not, I’ve hardly a stellar record at this. Too much wishful thinking.
